Eva Carter Gallery in Charleston, SC, is Moving to Wadmalaw Island

Eva Carter Gallery, Charleston, SC's abstract art gallery, will close its doors on East Bay Street on May 26, 2009. Eva Carter will move the business to her painting studio on Wadmalaw Island and welcome visitors there by appointment. Carter will continue to exhibit nationally and is looking forward to the new level of attentiveness and concentration that she'll have - full time in the studio.

The River Studio on Wadmalaw is an inspiring place where Carter watches the ebb and flow of intercoastal tides or the fading light on the watery horizon. It's where this nationally acclaimed abstract expressionist artist paints and entertains. In the new location, 20 miles south of downtown Charleston, the gallery will host special receptions and exhibitions of the work of Eva Carter.

Carter, a leader in the contemporary art scene in Charleston, opened her gallery on East Bay Street in Dec. 1997. Her distinctive viewpoint and commitment to abstract art has been cherished by locals and visitors alike. Besides showcasing her own paintings, she has also exhibited the work of international to emerging artists throughout the years. These invitational artists include Kathleen Earthrowl, Rick Horton, the estate of William Halsey, Wolf Kahn, Gretchen Lothrop, Karin Olah, Matt Overend, Brian Rutenberg, Gene Speer, John Steele, Michael Tyzack, Maria White Mebane, and many others.

For further information check our SC Commercial Gallery listings, or to make an appointment at the new location, call 843/557-0006 or visit (www.EvaCarterGallery.com).
