What began as a series of phone calls between friends, has now become an impressive and incredibly affordable art offering featuring the work of four well know artists entitled 7byEleven.

Susan Colwell

The artists, Sherry Browne, Tami Cardnella, Susan Colwell, and Nance Sneddon working with the art loving public's wallets in mind and the intention to "create something truly special" have spent months developing a unique body of work for the 2009 Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Show. In the exhibit each artist has brought her unique painting point of view to pieces formatted for 7 by 11 inch canvases. "Working in a format gives us the space to not only include many of the attributes usually found only in larger paintings, but it also allows us to paint beautiful original works of art that are within everyone's budget", says Cardnella.

Years of cut and paste have led Browne to a passion for paper cutting and collage, creating beautifully composed representations. Cardnella's classical oils including her wonderful still-life and landscapes are imbued with rich, often dramatic color. Colwell is known for her abstract-impressionistic landscapes. "I try to recreate the feeling or mood of a place through color and light, adds Colwell. Sneddon's mixed media work inspired by nature combines flat design with a complex layering of block-printing, brushwork, and collage.
