The Paint Spot & Gift Gallery in Black Mountain, NC, to Show Works by Don Campbell

Sculptor Don Campbell will be exhibiting his work as the featured artist during the month of June at the Paint Spot & Gift Gallery in Black Mountain, NC. The exhibit is titled The Spice of Life. Don Campbell combines a knowledge of the human form, obtained from years of drawing, painting, and sculpting, with a professional understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the sculptural methods he employs.

In addition to doing portrait and figurative sculpture. Campbell has served the arts community of Western North Carolina. He is past president of The Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League and has served on the Artists Grants Council of the North Carolina Arts Alliance Round Table. He is a member of the Tri State Sculptors, a professional association of practicing sculptors.

Campbell studied art at the Rhode Island School of Design, The Richmond Art Institute and the University of North Carolina at Asheville. He also studied sculpture with the Russian Master Vadim Bora. His sculpture and paintings have won numerous awards and his work has been exhibited at Tidewater Art Gallery in Norfolk, The Richmond Art Institute, Pack Place Gallery in Asheville, and both The Paint Spot Gallery and The Old Depot Arts & Crafts in Black Mountain, NC as well as several exhibits of SVFAL and others.

Campbell will be showing not only his sculptures, but preliminary drawings used to lead up to the sculpting process. This will enhance the viewers knowledge as to the creative processes involved. Some of his paintings and stained glass will also be on display during this interesting exhibit.
