June Issue 2005

The Frame Shop and Gallery's Art Café in Rock Hill, SC, Features Works by Joyce Netzler

The Frame Shop and Gallery's Art Café in Rock Hill, SC, will showcase landscapes, still lifes and house portraits by watercolor artist, Joyce Netzler from June 3 -30, 2005. Netzler will demonstrate painting techniques in the gallery on June 3 & 4, 2005, from 10am-2pm.

Netzler's preferred medium is vibrant watercolor. "It is a delight to see these images come to life. In nature, these beauties are short lived, but through my paintings their unique colors and shapes are lasting," says Netzler.

Netzler has been painting full time for 15 years since she retired as an art and math school teacher. She grew up in Wisconsin and spent 45 years in Cincinnati, OH, before coming to Rock Hill with her husband to be closer to her son who is an internist in Rock Hill.

Netzler also accepts commissions for house portraits, still lifes, landscapes and flowers. Her house portraits have generated a good portion of her business and samples of these will be included in the exhibit.

The Art Café just opened in mid April and has been very well received by the community. Patrons of Pat-a-Cakes, Time-Out and Cheung's lunch crowds find it stimulating to browse through the gallery before or after their meal. The gallery will also be adding more tables for seating patrons who wish to sip coffee and read a magazine while they enjoy the art. The gallery also offers custom framing services.
