Clark Hawgood at MicroCosm Gallery in Charlotte, NC

MicroCosm Gallery in Charlotte, NC, presents an exhibition of oil paintings by Clark Hawgood. The exhibition Chasing The Idea will be on view from July 6 - Aug. 31.

Clark, born in 1972, graduated from East Carolina University with BFA in Painting and Drawing. He lives in Charlotte and teaches art at Charlotte Latin School.

Clark's art focuses on organic and geometric shapes working together to create a balanced composition. He uses repetitive and overlapping shapes to show transformation of form. Some of these forms are realistic with symbolic meanings, allowing certain stories to be told. His use of color is a place of contrast, giving both positive and negative space equal importance in the piece.
