Transylvania Arts Center in Brevard, NC, Features Works by Larry Gray

During the last 30 years artist Larry Gray has made a name for himself as a nationally recognized painter, with almost 60 solo exhibitions across the country, from Seattle to San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta. Gray moved to Brevard in 1997 and now will present his first exhibition in WNC. Passages will open at Transylvania Community Arts Center in Brevard on July 1 and continued through Aug. 9, 2004.

Gray's work implements pigment powder on paper and oil on canvas to create atmospherics dealing with time, light, and space. Gray studied at the University of Georgia and Yale University before becoming a professor at Humboldt State University in California. His work is featured in the permanent collections of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Chicago Art Institute, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art among others.
