Green Rice Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Offers Show for Dog Days of Summer

Green Rice Gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibit, The Dog Show, featuring contemporary dog art from a select group of canine artists, on view from July 18 through Aug. 31, 2008.

The exhibit will include works by several painters, illustrators and sculptors. Some of the artists for The Dog Show include Angela Alexander, Adrianna Button and Kay Klotzbach.

Alexander, a native of McAdenville, NC, found her love of art through cartoons and whimsical drawings as a young child. She finds painting pets represents the purest form of unconditional love and seeks to generate an emotional response from her art like a smile or laugh.

Adrianna Button, a native of Charlotte, has fond memories of her father teaching her the basics of painting. She went on to complete her undergraduate work in painting and illustration and explored all types of mixed media, but it was her love of dogs that captured her creative spirit.

Kay Klotbach resides in Lindenwold, NJ, with her three dogs. Her paintings are just as much about her as they are about her dogs. Her paintings can be quiet, mysterious and introspective or joyful, beautiful and bursting with life. She is attracted to situations that allow her to create compositions that include unusual vantage points.
