July Issue 2009

Art League of Hilton Head on Hilton Head Island, SC, Features Exhibit of Works Under $300

The Art League of Hilton Head on Hilton Head Island, SC, will present the exhibit, Summer Dreams, a themed show by League members with all work priced $300 and under. The exhibit will be on view from July 13 through Aug. 8, 2009, at the Art League of Hilton Head Gallery, located in Pineland Station.

Over a hundred Art League artists will interpret their plans, dreams and ideas for a great summer. The Island Room, usually reserved for one artist's work will feature a surprise: a selection of artworks especially commissioned for this exhibition, all priced $300 or less.

Joyce Nagel

What is your idea for a great summer? Some quiet time by the water in a comfortable chair as evocatively rendered by Annie Coughlin's Solitude. Or do you love taking your boat out on a sail turn keeping cool in the breeze on the local waters as in Anita Stephen's painting Sailing. Do you fancy lazy days sun bathing on our beautiful beaches right here at home? The summer heat will make you want to stay close to the surf as in Joyce Nagel's pastel Red, White and Blue and Beach Angel by Virginia MacKenzie.

Ed Funk

Are you a beach comber? You might find the beautiful variety of shells shown in Sea Shells by Ed Funk. If golf is your game, how about this lush depiction of an 18th Green by J. Michael Nicastre? Or did the travel bug catch you this year? Maybe you'll go snorkeling to this idyllic Belize Hideaway by Leonard Camarda, or you prefer Sleeping In Nancy Mitchell's large oil of an exotic beach lined with boats?

Whatever is your fancy, we have it. Or if you do not see exactly what you like, one of our artists can create it for you! Come and get inspired for this summer by your Art League artists' original artwork - be it paintings, photographs, artisan works or jewelry.

The Art League of Hilton Head is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the visual arts through education, exhibitions and partnerships for the cultural enrichment of the community and its visitors. It operates a Gallery staffed by volunteers for the display and sale of artwork by its members.
