Artist League of the Sandhills in Aberdeen, NC, Offers Works by Men

The Artist League of the Sandhills in Aberdeen, NC, will present the exhibit, For Men Only, featuring work by men of the Artist League of the Sandhills, on view from July 10 - 28, 2011. A reception will be held on July 10, from 4-6pm.

Although few in number, the men, aside from painting, contribute much to the League activities by changing the light bulbs, reaching those high-on-the wall paintings, and other miscellaneous tasks that men do well. Some of the men have long careers in art, others have started their art career since coming to the Sandhills.  You can expect to see different styles, subjects, and media.

The exhibition’s participating artists include: Mike D’Andrea and Chuck Lunney who are founding members of the Art League, master electrician Ron Davis, Chet Ensign, board member Frank Giordano, Walter Hasbrouck, past president Hugh Harris, Tom Moynihan, instructors Harry Neely, Tom Street, and Joe Wertheimer.

The Artists League of the Sandhills is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1994 to promote interest in the visual arts by providing art education and a friendly environment in which to work, exhibit and sell members’ artworks. It is located in historic downtown Aberdeen at 129 Exchange Street in the old Aberdeen Rockfish Railroad storage terminal.
