Art Institute of Charlotte Gallery in Charlotte, NC, To Feature Work by Sherri Wood

In Charlotte, NC the Art Institute of Charlotte Gallery's next exhibit will be Sherri Wood's Tattoo Baby Doll Project. The exhibit runs August 5-30, 2002.

Sherri Wood focuses on "domestic and traditionally feminine forms of expression and decoration, such as quilt making, embroidery, crochet and sewing. Wood says, "My current aesthetic interests are focused on the objects and practices of domestic pop culture as vehicles (language) for recognizing buried and scattered patterns of meaning, paradigmatic shifts and the course of transformative passage (transition)." Her work has been exhibited in the San Francisco Museum of Craft & Folk Art, Modern Electric in Jersey City, NJ, Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito, CA, and across NC.
