Somerhill Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC, Offers Group Exhibit Based on Water
Somerhill Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC, is presenting a forty-person exhibition titled, Aquatica, on view through Aug. 26, 2006. This invitational exhibit is an exploration of the aqueous in fine art.
The exhibition features vast array of artistic styles and media including painting, sculpture, photography, art glass, and studio jewelry. Over forty artists of all media will be exploring the aqueous as fine art.
Carolyn Morris (mermaid pin), Maija Neimanis (ram), Margaret Barnaby (dolphin)
Somerhill Gallery Director Joseph Rowand recently commented, "Led by Poseidon and guided by Nammu, Somerhill Gallery's immersion in all things aqueous became the focal point of our largest feature exhibition of the year. Perhaps to cool the pulse in the languid deep of a Southern summer, water became the theme in which we selected our participating artists. To offer a cool and wet oasis the gallery is filled with images and interpretations of all things water".
