Element Clay Studio and Gallery Opens in Asheville, NC, with Exhibition

Element Clay Studio and Gallery has opened in Asheville, NC, with the exhibition, Fresh, featuring works by Ted Harper, Lindsay Pichaske, Lillian Beyers, Angelique Tassistro, Heather Knight, James Powell, Steven Cheek and Katie Johnson. The exhibition will be on view through Aug. 30, 2007.

This funky mix of ceramics gives a inside look at what local emerging ceramic artists are doing, and the community clay studio downstairs shows exactly how they are doing it. This exhibition is in every way refreshing, it allows viewers to really look at the broad capabilities of the ceramic medium and the boundaries being pushed by Asheville artists. Artist and founding member of Element, Heather Knight says "It's important to show with our inaugural exhibition what is being produced in our studio and how exciting ceramics can really be."

Fresh offers a broad but cohesive range of work put together to entice the viewer to look at ceramics in a non - traditional way.
