August Issue 2008

The Artist Guild Gallery of Greenville in Greenville, SC, Features Works by Cathy Jarchow

The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville in Greenville, SC, is proud to introduce Cathy Jarchow's new and never viewed infrared photographs, from Aug. 9 - 31, 2008.

Jarchow grew up in Northwestern Ohio. She relocated with her family to Greenville in 1990. She has been taking photographs since she inherited her father's Kodak Brownie camera as a child and has honed her craft ever since.

These days Jarchow works exclusively in digital format using a Canon D20 and Nikon D70 that has been converted for infrared photos which has allowed her to expand on her creativity. Her approach to the photos she has taken is "finding the special in the ordinary" to create photographic artistry. Her work represents an artistic look at things we see everyday, but may not have noticed or appreciated.

Jarchow has exhibited in Art in the Park, Greenville, SC, Furman University's Juried Earth Show, Greenville, SC, and is a ongoing local artist represented at The Great Frame Up Gallery and Frame Shop in Simpsonville, SC.

The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville is pleased and excited to spotlight her work as our very first photographer to exhibit in our gallery and we feel it is well worth the visit. Come by and enjoy the show and there will be framed and unframed photos for purchase.
