August Issue 2010

RedSky Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Gustavo Novoa

RedSky Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is presenting an exhibit of paintings by Gustavo Novoa, on view through Aug. 31, 2010.

Novoa's wildlife subjects live in a romantic environment which conveys a deep sensitivity toward nature's most exotic surroundings. Feelings, emotion and imagination are all the principal ingredients in the creation of this paradise. His paintings are like stories told in images of his perception of his dream world.

Novoa reinvents a parallel world where flora and fauna are integrated into the same space. Using color and multiple levels of light, he creates his own universe of images. Recently, Novoa's work has become more surrealist. He tries to show us a world in which rules and relations are not delineated by anything but free will and everything that drives us toward a better world.

Chilean born artist Gustavo Novoa exhibits work at the Wally Findlay Galleries in New York, Paris, Palm Beach and Beverly Hills. He has published three books of his wildlife illustrations. His work is collected by President and Mrs. George Bush, H.R.H. Prince Charles of England, Valentino Hanae Mori, Beverly Sills, Royal Doulton, Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt, Whitney, Sylvester Stallone, Carolina Herrera, Mrs. Henry Lord Boulton and many others.

RedSky Gallery features original works on paper and canvas, sculpture, ceramic, glass, studio furniture, art-to-wear, jewelry, and more. Over 500 regional and national artists are represented at two gallery locations in Dilworth and the EpiCentre in Uptown.
