Davidson College in Davidson, NC, Features Faculty Exhibition

The annual Davidson College faculty exhibition will be on view through Oct. 6 in the William H. Van Every, Jr. and Edward M. Smith Gallery in the Katherine and Tom Belk Visual Arts Center in Davidson, NC.

This exhibition features recent works from Herb Jackson, Cort Savage, Russ Warren and visiting arts faculty member Kimberley Richards.

Herb Jackson

Featured in this exhibition will be a recent body of oil crayon drawings by Herb Jackson. He is renowned for his dramatic paintings that employ striking colors and intricate textures in order to evoke a sense of intense courage and vulnerability.

Russ Warren

Russ Warren continues to explore a variety of charged symbols in a new series of paintings entitled Elvis Ain't No Cubist. These lyrical oil paintings combine humor with Warren's unique stylistic approach to create images that are, at once, chaotic and harmonious.

Cort Savage

Sculptor Cort Savage will debut the new installation, Recurrence. These new works employ eclectic materials and mechanization to create a unique sensorial experience that deals with physical and metaphysical concepts of the human body.

Kimberley Richards

Kimberley Richards is the newly appointed Visiting Assistant Professor of Visual Arts. She comes to Davidson College from Art Institute of Colorado, and is a representative from the GENECORP Institute. Richards produces conceptually-based sculpture concerned with issues of genetic engineering. She will present her installation entitled Ichthyo Fabula (featuring the VAMPIREBASS) in the Smith Gallery.
