Eva Carter Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Monotypes From Santa Fe

Eva Carter Gallery in downtown Charleston, SC, is proud to present New Monotypes from The Land of Enchantment, an exhibition introducing new works on paper by abstract expressionist Eva Carter. The exhibition opens Sept. 15 and continues through Sept. 30.

Each year, Carter spends time in Santa Fe, NM. She has been returning to the high desert lands of the Southwest for enrichment and inspiration since she was a teenager. During the last couple of years she has also been drawn to the area for an annual Southeast/Southwest exhibition at the Joyce Robins Gallery.

This summer, Carter spent time at Hand Graphics Studio with master printer Michael Costello in Santa Fe producing monotypes. This particular exhibition will feature original monotypes fresh off the press illustrating the colors, climate and cultural effects Carter has experienced from The Land of Enchantment.

The coming months will be a very active time for the Gallery. On Oct. 6, the gallery will present an exhibition of new sculpture by Gretchen Lothrop for the French Quarter Gallery Association's ART WALK. On Nov. 3 & 4, Eva Carter Gallery will participate in the 2nd Annual Charleston Fine Arts Annual, sponsored by the Charleston Fine Arts Dealers Association, with an exhibition of work by William Halsey, Gretchen Lothrop, and Eva Carter entitled Three Voices of Abstraction. Dec. 1, brings another French Quarter ART WALK.
