Celebrate the Arts at Centerfest 2001 in Durham, NC

Durham Arts Council's 28th annual CenterFest in Durham, NC, takes place on Saturday, Sept.15 from 10am to 6pm and Sunday, Sept. 16 from noon to 6pm. Tens of thousands of arts lovers from across the region are expected to come together to celebrate the visual and performing arts on the streets of downtown Durham.

CenterFest, the longest running annual street arts festival in North Carolina, includes activities for visitors of all ages. The festival is most well known for the incredible visual art displayed throughout the streets of downtown Durham. Over 125 visual artists display their wares during CenterFest - from ceramics and fiber arts to painting and sculpture.

Twenty performers on two stages add music, dance, theater, and other performing art forms to the festivities. The wide selection of international food, interactive children's area, and Learning Tents (for the artist in each of us) create an atmosphere of fun for
the entire family.

CenterFest 2000 drew an estimated 75,000 people to downtown Durham. This year's event promises to continue the tradition citizens from all over the Triangle anticipate. CenterFest is an annual event of the Durham Arts Council.
