With the help of new board member, Art Thomas, a "commercial" gallery space has been acquired. Print Studio South (PSS) will share tenancy with Edell Art Gallery, Cafe Lana, and Theatre 99, at 30 Cumberland Street in Charleston, SC. The new exhibition space is 560 sq. feet, two levels, bricked in walls, two fireplaces, an upper deck and is located streetside next to Cafe Lana. We will have a full-time gallery director. Exhibiting members will pay a nominal fee based on rental or non rental status. All artist/ members working in print medium which include relief print, monoprint, silkscreen, intaglio, lithograph and photography are encouraged to participate and any printmakers interested in exhibiting must gain membership first. The Print Studio South Gallery will open its doors Sept. 1, 2001. The official opening is Friday, Sept. 21 from 6-8pm. PSS hopes to participate as a new member of The French Quarter Association and join October's Art Walk, so stay tuned.

There will continue to be exhibits at PSS Gallery, 77 Wentworth Street, in Charleston. Making his annual mecca to Charleston, Dale Clifford will be presenting prints and drawings in the exhibit entitled, "Works on Paper". which will be on view through Oct. 12. Clifford's recent work is large color reduction relief prints of animals and some symbols/turned patterns which are amazing to look at.
