Red Piano Art Gallery in Hilton Head Island, SC, Features Works by Candace Lovely

The Red Piano Art Gallery in Hilton Head, SC, will present an exhibition entitled, Candace Lovely: Good & Plenty, featuring recent paintings by Hilton Head Island resident, Candace Lovely. On exhibit from Sept. 8 - 29, will be recent figurative, portraiture, landscape and still-life paintings using two opposite values (black and white) with a medium hue of pink, based on a theory that "opposites attract". While exploring the theme of Good & Plenty, yes, Lovely immediately thought of the candy named in the same manner. White, black and pink candies in a box. Opposites that attract!

Lovely was born in Vermont and initially educated at the University of Vermont. Later in her career she studied painting at the Fenway Studios in Boston, MA, under the tutelage of Robert Cormier and Paul Ingbretson. She was later deemed a Copley Society of Boston Master and at one point in her career was commissioned by First Lady Barbara Bush to paint her portrait at the White House. An impressionist painter with a keen sense of light and color, Lovely also enhances her work with dynamic compositional perspective in recent paintings executed for her Good & Plenty exhibit at The Red Piano Art Gallery.
