Shain Fine Art in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by bonnie brown fergus

Shain Fine Art in Charlotte, NC, will feature an exhibition entitled, Entanglements, including floral oil paintings by bonnie brown fergus, from Sept. 28 through Oct. 12, 2001.

fergus currently resides in Ocala, FL, but will be moving back to Charlotte this winter. She began her professional art career in NC and lived in Charlotte for 17 years where she taught watercolor classes privately as well as at Queens College in the Continuing Education program. She was President of the Guild of Charlotte Artists and went on to be Treasurer and then President of the NC Watercolor Society.

Her paintings are in many prestigious private and corporate collections around the US and Europe. Charlotte corporate collections include First America Bank, Wachovia and Mercy Hospital. fergus is in the drafting stages of an instructional book based on her color theory.

fergus says, "I have come full circle in my approach to painting. Having begun in watercolors, I branched out to experiment working in a wide range of mediums, including acrylics, pastels, water-soluble crayons and traditional oils. It wasn't until water-soluble oils were manufactured that I was able to incorporate the best of two worlds: oil on canvas with the transparency of watercolors. My show at the Shain Fine Art Gallery this fall will be the debut of a new and exciting series revolving around flowers and the transparency of crystal vases."
