Hilton Head Art League in Hilton Head, SC, Features Works by Heidi Fearon

Artist Heidi Fearon is sharing her sojourn through life in the form of her watercolor paintings which will be on display at the Hilton Head Art League Gallery in Pineland Station on Hilton Head Island, SC, from Sept. 2 - 27, 2003.

Fearon was born to artistic parents in Salzburg, Austria, where she completed her education in fashion design. After living in Paris, then Cambridge, England, she came to the states where she met and married a Canadian who brought her to live in Montreal. It is there that she worked for 20 years as a fashion designer.

In 1987 she remarried and moved to Syracuse, NY, where she began painting and exhibiting in oils. When she and her husband decided to travel on their sailboat for almost six years, visiting many parts of the world, Fearon discovered that painting in oils on a boat was impractical. She then switched to painting in watercolor and continues to work in that medium today. "There are so many talented artists in Hilton Head from whom
to learn," says Fearon. "I really enjoy attending workshops and am starting to find my own style."

In her own inimitable style she portrays places she's visited, ranging from chateaux in France to scenes of sailing the rugged coast of Maine. Vibrant floral still-lifes bring variety and balance to her body of work.
