Hamlet Fine Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Bette Lu Bentley-Layne

Hamlet Fine Art Gallery is pleased to present a new exhibit, Imaginings, showcasing new art works by Bette Lu Bentley-Layne, on view from Sept 22 - 30, 2006.

Bentley-Layne's interest in art began in childhood, which then progressed from drawing to pastels, oils, and currently into acrylic. She uses vibrant colors, shades of reds, oranges and yellows to convey the warm light of morning or evening, contrasted by long cool shadows that depict everyday low country subject matter. Her colors embody the fun of painting and the joy of life.

Bentley-Layne has joined artists' organizations, entered juried shows, and won prestigious awards. All this, combined with a background of landscape design, has reinforced her creative desire to paint. Bentley-Layne says, "The creative process is very stimulating in any art form but especially in creating visual images. Channeling the love of art, through the paint to the canvas is the key."

Stephanie Hamlet, gallery owner, says 'You can sense the flow of positive energy emanating from her work". Currently, Bentley-Layne studio is in Summerville, SC. Her paintings may be seen at Hamlet Fine Art Gallery and Art Central, Ltd in Summerville, SC.
