4th Henderson Co. (NC) Open Studio Tour Takes Place - Sept. 25 & 26, 2010

More than ten new artists will participate in the Fourth Annual Henderson County Open Studio Tour on Saturday, Sept. 25 (10am-5pm) and Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 (noon-5pm).

Presented by The Arts Council of Henderson County, located in Hendersonville, NC, the Open Studio Tour is a self-guided tour of 30 artist studios and five area art galleries.  A preview exhibition, showcasing the work of the participating artists, will be held between Sept. 3 - 24, 2010, in the Neill Gallery at The Arts Council in downtown Hendersonville.

"The Exhibition is the public's chance to experience works by all the artists who'll be participating in the Tour in the same room," said Jim Faucett, executive director of the Arts Council. "It's a great preview for the Tour, and will allow the gallery visitor an opportunity not only to plan which artists they want to visit during the Tour but also to pick up the Tour brochure."

The new participating artists are Susan Barrett, Abbie Doyle, Mark Ferri, Lazlo Hamori, Denise Hansen, Donald Haynes, Robin Kirby, Edward Morris, Leila Starke, Cheryl Stippich, and Claire DeLong Taylor.

They will join with Tour veterans Kimberley Adams, Penny Baugh, Andrew Brittain, Larue Downing, Laura Duprey, Susan Fazio, Dave Goldman, Marsha Hammel, Veronika Hart, Frances Hudelson, Janet Jacobson, Robin Kirby, Costanza Knight, M Rathsack, David Sheldon, Kate Stockman, Maxine Tatreau, and Kathy Vorbrich.

The participating galleries include The Arts Council of Henderson County, Hand in Hand Gallery, McCarter Gallery, Oliver's Southern Folk Art, Silver Fox Gallery & Interiors, and WICKWIRE fine art/folk art.

The Open Studio Tour brochure will be available at the Arts Council and at the Henderson County Travel & Tourism Visitor's Center, 201 South Main Street in downtown Hendersonville.
