Society of Bluffton Artists in Bluffton, SC, Offers Works by Former Leaders

The Society of Bluffton Artists (SoBA) presents the, Past Presidents, featuring over 20 new and exciting paintings from six well known artists and prior SoBA presidents on view from Sept. 19 through Oct. 24, 2010, in Bluffton, SC.

Lynda K. Potter, the first president (1994-1996) and one of the seven founding members, specializes in watermedia paintings. Her floral pieces and landscapes are shown in many area galleries. Dee Johnson served two terms as president (1997 and 2001) and is a longtime board member. She is a noted watercolor painter. 

Helen Evans, president in 2000, was the driving force in the SoBA Gallery becoming a reality. Her talents include painting in all medias and a variety of subject matter. Emily Wilson achieved the largest membership growth within SoBA during her two year term as president (2002-2003). Her oil painting specialty is lowcountry landscapes and her work is shown in a number of area galleries.
 
Terry Brennan (2004-2005) paints in both oil and watercolor with landscapes/seascapes being his specialty. Dave Dickson recently completed four outstanding years as president (2006 thru 2010). His pastel and acrylic paintings contain vivid colors and beautiful composition.
