Durham Arts Council Presents Works by Melissa Reed-Brost

My Earth My Self is the title of an exhibit of paintings by Raleigh, NC artist, Melissa Reed-Brost that will hang in the Semans Gallery of the Durham Arts Council Building in Durham, NC through Jan. 24, 2000.

Melissa Reed-Brost grew up in Raleigh, but lived in Hawaii for nine years with her husband. While in Hawaii, Reed-Brost began experimenting with acrylic mediums and fabrics; creating what she calls "sculpted paintings". She has participated in many juried shows as well as group shows throughout Hawaii.

Since returning to Raleigh six years ago, Reed-Brost has participated in various art happenings throughout NC. She has exhibited in the Fayetteville Museum of Contemporary Art, Gallery A, Accipiter Gallery and The Third Place Café in Raleigh. She has also completed several commission pieces.
