Works by Emily Eve Weinstein at Durham Arts Council

Moon Paintings is the title of an exhibit by Durham, NC, artist Emily Eve Weinstein that will be on view in the Allenton Gallery of the Durham Arts Council Building through Dec. 29, 1999.

The exhibit will display several of the 122 paintings that Weinstein has painted of the full moon in the last year. Every month, she set aside five days to paint the moon in various seasons and environments. She has recently published her "Moon Book," which documents her paintings and journal passages recorded at the time the paintings were created. Weinstein will be present at her reception, Dec. 9, for discussions and book signing.

Emily Eve Weinstein is a native of New York. Her formal art education took place in France, England, and Richmond, VA, and has been an Artist-In-Residence four times. She recently coordinated and completed the Old Hayti Community Mural Project, and is responsible for the mural on the old Penny Furniture Building which faces the parking lot adjacent to the Durham Arts Council. Weinstein has just completed her new home/gallery/studio and is available for commissioned work.
