Sculpture Exhibition At Pickens County Museum

The Pickens County Cultural Commission is hosting, On & Off the Wall, the latest exhibition at the Pickens County Museum, located in Pickens, SC. This exhibition of wall-mounted sculptural works will be on view through July 31.

On & Off the Wall, encompassing both of the museum's upstairs galleries, is composed of works with two common connections. They are all three-dimensional works of sculpture and they are all created especially for the wall. No pedestal pieces, no freestanding floor pieces and no ceiling mounted pieces. These are all "on" and "off" of the wall. This diverse collection of sculptural styles and techniques, ranging from traditional to cutting edge, folk to high-tech is an excellent representation of the sculptors presently working in this region of the Carolinas.

Curated by the Museum's Director, Allen Coleman, On & Off the Wall, includes works by the following artists: John Acorn, Michael Biggs, Russell Biles, Karen Brinson, Lois Bro, Jamie Davis, David Dètrich, Margaret Gilliam, Glenda Guion, Lewis Holloway, Marjan Kluepful, Ellen Kochansky, Robert Lyon, Tim Murray, Beth Bullman Regula, James Stockham, Christine Tedesco, Joseph Thompson and Roger Wohlford.

The Museum is located at 307 Johnson Street in Pickens at the corner of Hwy. 178 and Johnson. Museum hours are Tue., 8:30am to 8:30pm; Wed. through Fri., 8:30am to 5pm; and Sat., from noon to 4pm.
