Tryon Fine Arts Center Features Works by Daniel Cromer

The Tryon Painters and Sculptors group are hosting an exhibit of watercolors by Daniel Cromer at the Tryon Fine Arts Center in Tryon, NC, which will be on view through Nov. 2, 1999.

Cromer has a wide and interesting background in art. He attended art schools in Nashville, Pittsburgh, and Chicago. After starting a career as an advertising artist and exhibitor, he entered military service. As a military journalist and artist he traveled, wrote, and painted throughout Japan.

Upon completing military service he attended the Art Center in Los Angeles. After Graduation he resumed his career in advertising art. This occupation took him to New York, then London, England. He extended his work to include stage design, film, and video, and traveled and painted throughout Europe.

Returning permanently to the United States in 1993, he established a studio in SC for major easel works and as a base for location travel in the Atlantic Southeast. He is active on the Board of Spartanburg Museum of Art, and has been accepted as "Member in Excellence" in the South Carolina Watercolor Society.
