Statement on Rust Never Sleeps Images

Moore's usual subject matter is the natural landscape where his response is deliberate, calcuated, and literal. "There was nothing deliberate about the making of the images that are presented here, other than I felt compelled to make them. Here it was almost an entirely subconscious response to color, texture, and random form found on the street. Walking, glimpsing, blinking, it's gone," stated Moore. "These photographs bear no relation to the real world other than what the viewer, and the photographer, bring to the image themselves. They seem to be separate from time and place, very different from my other work. They are my balance to landscape photography, and in fact are leading the landscapes in this direction."
